Project Proposals Summary

The Episcopal Church of the Sudan, Aweil Diocese, Southern Sudan was due to receive a new Bishop and new Diocese dated 18th July 2010, and is expected to become more involved in various community developmental activities, spiritual, intellectual, social, and a boost in its economics. The new Bishop of the Episcopal Church of the Sudan (E.C.S) Rt. Rev. Abraham Yel, of Aweil Diocese has toured Aweil West, Aweil North and one of Aweil East archdeaconries and observed the same problems common to all to other areas. The aim of his tour was to assess the situations that indicate troubles the Church is undergoing. An intention was to enable church's administration find immediate response to problems facing E.C.S in Aweil's new Diocese, so most of the urgent problems identified following Bishop's tour were:

  • Clean Water system and flood issues (most urgent)
  • Health situation
  • Agriculture projects
  • Education in some areas
  • Women development
