Women Development

The difficulties women face are numerous, including manual pounding and stone grinding of grains, which is very tiresome work and which women are forced to do. The Episcopal Church is working to reduce women's workload through building the facilities and towards the improvement of their health. Young girls are also trapped in this hard labour and therefore deprived of their chances to go to school, this is the reason we lack many educated women in Aweil.

The Episcopal Church propose to put ten women's centers and to buy ten mechanical grinding mills/posho mills and install them in these centers of the Episcopal Church. The centers will serve as adult education centers for women/girls, and those posho mills will maintain the centers for 3 years while the Diocese is preparing for the best possible means of supporting them.

We continue to appeal to government, NGOs, Agencies, Individuals and friends to contribute to the development of the women in our church.
